The weekend in Cape Town was fabulous. I learned so much about not only photography, but about running a wedding photography business as well. I have to give a huge thank you to to Christine Meintjes for organising, teaching, sharing and just generally being awesome, and to the other seven photographers I met for sharing your knowledge and experiences as well.
Early on the Saturday morning we drove out to Stellenbosch to photograph Nicola and Wynand’s sweet, country-chic engagement shoot. The weather was perfect, as was the location!

And some Behind The Scenes shots:

Some people will do anything to get a shot.
See Part II here.

Very very cool! Love them!
Truly stunning!
Lovely shots, really well done.

Thanks so much, everyone!
They look awesome!! I love how the yellows and greens look together.
Really awesome, Kat! You have so much talent, I’m in awe!!! Was great meeting you – enjoy your photography and please keep in contact!
It was great to meet you too, Anli – thanks so much! I’d love to see your photos too, if you post them up somewhere.

You got some seriously cute photos!! Congratulations on an eventful weekend!
These are so great! I love the color. I’m pretty sure I say that every time but you always have great exposure and then the color just pops.
Great shots, Kath! I especially like your close-ups. Hope you are willing to 2nd shoot for me soon!
Sure thing! (as long as I can use my pics on my blog etc). We should actually create a network of people we can ask to 2nd shoot for us, especially in emergencies.
Fantastic Kat! I can see you thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. You got some great shots! And what better scenery that that of CT – I love the blue sky and the green backgrounds. Well done! We’d love to join your 2nd shooter network – let us know if something like that happens

Thanks, Mandy! No flash at all – the light was perfect! I used my 18-105 3.5. The 50mm coming soon…

Fantastic! Good job on all of these! What an adorable couple!
Beautiful work Kat! My fav is number 5 and the one where he’s lifting her up.
And what an awesome shoot. It’s very “Sound of Music-ish”. The mountains in the bg are incredible.
Thanks so much, Chelsea!

Shari – you should! She gave a wonderful workshop.
Seriously! These are amazing! I love, love, love the 6th portrait where it’s a close-up of her- amazing colors!
I’m so glad you like that one, because she didn’t know it was being taken and I’m really pleased with it! If you look in the next photo, her fiance is behind her, and everyone was taking shots of him while she was sitting down playing with the flowers in the grass. I took those while she had no idea, and she looks so beautiful!
BEAUTIFUL!! AMAZING!! STUNNING!! FANTASTIC!! There aren’t enough words to express my love for your work. I think I just found a blog to add to my blog stalking list. Bravo!
