Simone: Bridal

May 29, 2009

For years I belonged to a classic film society whose meetings were held at the Johannesburg Museum of Military History, and I always thought it would be such a gorgeous place to do a vintage-inspired photo shoot! Well, on Monday, I finally made it happen. I’m beyond excited about the results – Simone is such a natural poser, and so graceful (maybe I should also do yoga every day…), so she really made it easy!

Here are some of my favourites:

Anniversary Shoot

May 27, 2009

My parents’ anniversary is coming up, so I decided to do a “couple session” for them. Or, if you like, a waaay overdue “Day After” session. :-)

If your family photos are anything like mine, you’ll notice that there’s always one person who isn’t in them. That person is my Dad, because he was always the one taking the pictures! The cameras were always his; he used to be a keen amateur photographer (I remember him explaining the term ‘Single Lens Reflex Camera’ to me – I thought it was the longest term I’d ever heard!) so naturally he always took the photos! But it does mean that, outside of their wedding photos, there aren’t really that many pictures of my parents together. Remedy time! Here are a few from our shoot last week:

I’ve done two shoots this week whilst valiantly fighting off flu (and coming off second best). Well, actually I did the first one right before flu declared war, and the second one today, when I’m feeling a bit better. The editing mostly awaits, though! But I had to share one shot from today’s bridal session with you.

Deliciously vintage.

Bear with me on the logo changes; I’m still trying out a few things! What do you think?
